Department of Planning and Procurement Management

1. The Department of Planning and Procurement Management is a service under the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Medicines, responsible for overseeing procedures related to the planning and management of procurement of medicines and medical consumables.

2. The Department is responsible for:

a) Planning the needs for medicines and medical consumables to meet the requirements of institutions within the National Health Service;

b) Carrying out other tasks as provided by law or regulation, as well as those assigned by higher authorities.

3. The Department of Planning and Procurement Management is headed by a department chief, appointed and dismissed in accordance with the general regime for leadership and management positions in the Public Administration. The chief reports hierarchically to the Director of the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Medicines.
